Quality of Life Survey

As part of the Strategic Planning process, Matthewson & Co. supported the Municipality of Deloraine-Winchester to run a quality of life survey for residents. The purpose was to gather feedback on how residents view their quality of life in the area. The data collected is intended to support the Municipality in decision-making and future planning.  The survey was live from July 28th to August 8th, 2025. Upon the survey closing, Matthewson & Co. analyzed the data and developed this report.

We promoted the survey via Facebook and community bulletin boards, in the Municipal office and the post office.  It was open to all ratepayers of the Deloraine-Winchester area, with a primary focus on individuals aged 18 and above.

Over the 15 days, we received 107 responses. Based on the 2021 Census, the population of Deloraine-Winchester is 1,478. Based on the Census population, 7% of residents responded to the survey. That’s a fairly typical turnout for this kind of community survey. While it doesn’t reflect everyone’s views, it gives a valuable snapshot of how some residents feel about local services and quality of life.

This report showcases resident feedback to foster community understanding and provide the Council with actionable insights for shaping the future of Deloraine-Winchester.
